Description

The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for all aspects of project management, including startup, obtaining building permits, preparing tenders, budgets, estimates and construction schedules. The PM will communicate professionally with owners, clients, consultants, in-house and external construction personnel to ensure project construction is executed on time, on budget and adhering to project specifications. You should have both ground and heavy equipment experience related to water and sewer installation. Experience in Commercial or Residential water and sewer is preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Manage project startup, project ERP & SWAP, ECO, TAS, initial schedule applicable permits and agreements.
  • Prepare construction schedules, change orders, RFI ‘s, progressing and monthly client reporting requirements.
  • Review and comment on shop drawings along with Superintendent
  • Manage contractor site meetings, RFI’s, invoices and control document process
  • Observe that Work Safe Practices are being followed during site visits. Complete management site visit from in Nektar
  • Verify the accuracy of change orders and ensures change orders are signed by client
  • Manage SCC, CCC, FAC requirements. Follow through to FAC paperwork.
  • Ensure all contractual issues are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner
  • Prepare contract for sub-contractors with Project Coordinator
  • Manage subcontractors efficiently.
  • Primary liaison with site superintendents and sub-contractors
  • Provide high level construction direction and oversight to project team
  • Coordinate project workforce needs with Superintendent
  • Familiarize the project team with the terms of the project contract
  • Provide recommendations to client on all bid summaries (private work)
  • Maintain rapport with clients
  • Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
  • Plan all project timelines, milestones and deliverables using the appropriate software tools and/or PM methods.
  • Organize project teams into suitable workgroups and guide the teams throughout their efforts according to project specifications.
  • Establish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to General Manager. (B2W track and MS Projects)
  • Conduct lessons learned close out meeting at the end of project to improve going forward. (yearly)
  • Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget.
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associate work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Manage project dependencies.
  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
  • Interface with client representatives
  • Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s).
  • Authorize/approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, change requests, etc.
  • Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to.
  • Interpret policies as required.
  • Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
  • Knowledge of Survey & Trimble Business Center

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years experience managing large, complex projects within the industrial/municipal segments
  • PMP designation preferred.
  • Ability to oversee and manage full project and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Experience bidding on municipal projects; underground utilities/sewer background preferred.
  • Ability to manage sub-contractors and oversee work site progress.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from internal and external stakeholders.
